PAK’nSAVE supports CanTeen’s Annual Appeal

PAK'nSAVE is proud to be supporting
CanTeen's Annual Appeal which starts Sunday 13th
September and runs until Monday 28th September.
This year, PAK'nSAVE has gifted
CanTeen a $35,000 donation to kick off the Appeal and selected
stores will have bucket collectors posted around the country for
their Street Appeal on Friday 18th September.
Steve Anderson, Managing Director, Foodstuffs New Zealand says
that PAK'nSAVE is dedicated to supporting communities groups around
New Zealand.
"PAK'nSAVE is proud to support fundraising for CanTeen. Helping
our community is very much in our DNA and where we can we want
to encourage our customers to lend a helping hand. Together we hope
to make a little go a long way," he says.
CanTeen CEO Bruce Pilbrow says its organisations such as
PAK'nSAVE whose funds help them continue to support young Kiwis
surviving the biggest challenge of their lives.
"CanTeen receives no government funding and relies solely on
support from the community. Generous partners such as PAK'nSAVE
allow us to continue to support young people living with cancer. We
are fortunate to have such passionate and enthusiastic
partners."
CanTeen is the only New Zealand organisation dedicated to
supporting young Kiwis aged 13 to 24 who are impacted by cancer;
either as a patient living with the disease or as a sibling coping
with a loved one's cancer challenge. CanTeen provide peer
support networks to help teen and young adults share experiences
and gain inspiration from others who are going through the same
thing.
This year, CanTeen has teamed up with eight famous Kiwi faces to
launch a single, limited edition bandanna. The bandanna features
eight words derived from CanTeen members answers when asked,
"Despite my cancer journey, because of CanTeen I feel ……"
The campaign is being backed by Dan Carter, Toni Street, Nadia
Lim, Fletch and Vaughan, Kerre McIvor, Pio Terei, Mike McRoberts
and Miriama Kamo.
