New World and Pams win "Most Trusted" awards

Foodstuffs triumphs in Reader's Digest Most Trusted Brands Awards 2016

Foodstuffs has once again triumphed in the annual Reader's Digest Most Trusted Brands Awards, winning the two top prizes for their category.

New World has taken out the competitive Most Trusted Supermarket honour, and PAK'nSAVE the highly commended runner-up in that category, while Pams has won the Most Trusted Supermarket Home Brand award for the fourth consecutive win.

The independent survey asked more than 1200 New Zealanders what brands they trusted across a range of categories, including supermarkets and supermarket own brands.

Steve Anderson, Managing Director, Foodstuffs New Zealand says, "I want to take this opportunity to thank all our teams across the country for their efforts to ensure that our customers consistently receive the best quality produce, range and service. These awards are direct recognition from our customers that we are delivering these results as they are choosing to shop with us every time."

Anderson says New World winning the Most Trusted Supermarket is extra special as it's the first time New World has won this category.

"We have been proudly serving New Zealanders since 1963 and we remain as committed to delivering the same friendly and helpful service with a quality range of products across the entire store, as much as we did the first day we opened our doors. We are extremely proud of our fantastic teams across the country, that have the knowledge, passion and expertise in food to ensure we are meeting and hopefully exceeding all the needs of our customers every single day," says Anderson.

New World continues to be a positive part of the communities in which it operates. This includes employing local staff, supporting schools and community groups wherever possible, as well as supporting home-grown products and suppliers.

"New World is extremely happy to have won this award hard on the heels of also winning Gold for the Readers Digest Quality Service Award a few months ago," he says.

Mr Anderson explains that winning the Most Trusted Home Brand is also a special honour as Pams was the first home brand in the country and it has been Kiwis' favourite brand since 1937.

"This is the fourth consecutive win for Pams in the Reader's Digest Most Trusted Supermarket Home Brand and the team remains committed to delivering great quality products for everyday use at affordable prices."

"The team acknowledge that this as a nod from our customers that Pams is their brand of choice, but we know that we can't be complacent and there's always room to develop and improve our offerings."

"Pams has been on our customers shopping lists since 1937, and we have continued to develop the range and its look over the years. Regular customers will start to see a few more exciting new changes happening in the coming months. As well as the Health Star Rating System appearing on our new packaging, you will now see a new logo and some new health-focussed products," says Anderson.

Pams is the biggest-selling grocery brand in the country, and has pride of place in its original home, Four Square, as well as being found in all New World and PAK'nSAVE stores throughout the country.

Pams proudly supports a national nutrition-education initiative, Food For Thought, which is designed to help primary school teachers teach Kiwi kids how to make healthier food and lifestyle choices.
